The main challenge of the project was to create a building in a narrow courtyard that stands out as an individual building and at the same time harmonizes with the adjacent buildings. The shape was derived from the angles of the neighboring buildings which created a diamond shaped footprint. The diamond shape is accentuated by a closed façade with horizontal windows in varying width. A champagne-toned color was applied to the façade to provide a warmth in the rather cold backyard.
